Are You Ready?

When Lynette asked me to write about my experiences the last several weeks, I thought about the usual words like discipline, committment, and determination. And although these words describe how I have lost 18 pounds and become much more healthy, the word that has made this journey more successful than any previous is faith. Spiritual faith are the hands under your arms holding you up when you are broken and raising your arms in celebration when you succeed. But the faith I'm talking about is faith in another person.

I had to give up any opinion and knowledge, real and imagined, that I had about how to change my life. I had to give up and have complete faith in Lynette. Being an athlete my whole life I had a lot of imagined knowledge. It was difficult to give that control to another person. But her intent was so pure and her knowledge so complete that I was able to try all the new ideas and research all the resources that she was sharing. She understands what motivates me and has taught me skills involving my health that I can use for the rest of my life. Faith. Such a small word with such large expectations. And Lynette has far exceeded all the expectations I had when I finally put all my faith in her. Faith. Are you ready?
Kim – your words are very humbling – I think you forgot someone though and that’s your faith in yourself that you believed that you were deserving of a better life for yourself. I was just the instrument God used to show you how beautifully and wonderfully made you really are! Thanks for being a great role model to others! Lynette
